São Paulo won't attempt to keep Adriano

São Paulo will not attempt to extend Adriano's second stint in Brazilian soccer. São Paulo president Juvenal Juvencio has said there is "no possibilty" that Adriano could stay longer than the six months originally agreed between themselves and Inter Milan.

"There is no possibility that Adriano will remain at São Paulo beyond July 18th, the day the agreement he has with us expires" Juvencio said in an interview published in the club's journal.

"The agreement is clear, after six months the player will return to Italy, even if the technical staff would like to have him for the national championship. However, I am sure that he will help us a lot in the Copa Libertadores."

Berlusconi wants Adriano at Milan

AC Milan president Silvio Berlusconi believes that Adriano would return as the player he was if he joined the European champions. "Adriano is a great player with such physical ability." said former Italian prime minister.

Adding "I'm sure that Milan would be the ideal environment for him to return to being the Adriano that played for Parma.

"I hope that this period in Brazil can put him back on the right track, but I think it is unlikely that Inter would agree to sell him to us."

This is third time that Berlusconi has declared Milan's interest in Adriano. Speaking in July, Berlusconi said "I have always liked Adriano a lot and I think that at Milan among many Brazilians he would fit well"

Then in November, amid reports that Inter would sell Adriano, he said "Adriano wants to leave Inter? Milan would be interested. There is no team in the world that would not take him."
